I just wanted to share with you that throughout the years when your father would tell your brother, my husband, about your accomplishments, he was always over the moon about your creativity, intelligence and talent. Of course I could hear a little undercurrent of "why can't you be as talented as your sister?" That was just the way he was.

I'm sorry he didn't treat Brant well (Forgive me but he'll always be that to me). It was not fair and I know he suffered because of it. I've always wondered what happened to our dad that drove him to make others feel inadequate. But we'll never know. I do know that Brant was creative and such a talented artist. I always admired how it came so naturally to him. I remember being mad at him once when he painted this amazing picture I really liked and he gave it to a girlfriend! :) I also remember how when he was a little boy, he always walked on his tip-toes. To my much younger eyes that was a real feat (or feet?) :)

Thanks for reaching out.

My grandson walked on tip-toes as a symptom of autism. Brant told me he was diagnosed with ADHD in his primary school days. They didn't know about autism then. There were times when I could see some similarities. When we married in 1994, his right hand shook so badly he could hardly write, but he still did a series of large dolphin prints in pointillism. I will never know if his brain tumor was involved in some way. He was the love of my life. There has not been, not will there ever be anyone else. I appreciate talking with you.
